The bedroom is the one room that doesn’t have to d The bedroom is the one room that doesn’t have to do anything. No gathering, no hosting, no moving through. Just rest. The @georgespelletier light above the bed was the last thing I added — and the moment it went up, the room made sense. There’s something about his work that doesn’t ask for attention but somehow has all of it. Everything else I kept very quiet. The whole point is to lean into sleep.

This room is part of a larger picture — how we act This room is part of a larger picture — how we actually live in our home in Greece. It’s the entry, the fireplace, the reading nook, the sofas -the place that branches into everything inside and out. I’d never really thought of it that way until my girlfriend @the_yesplease was visiting and said she loved the thought behind it. Sometimes I do things without thinking — meaning, this is just how we live. Our family is close, we love having friends around, and all of these small moments coming together in one room just made sense. What you see here is where we gather right before leaving for the beach. Does everyone have everything? All good. Currently featured in @marieclairemaison.
I am beyond grateful to @marieclairemaison for the I am beyond grateful to @marieclairemaison for the beautiful feature this month. Words cannot thank you enough @annedesnosbre for giving me the honor of gracing your cover- it’s a dream come true.

To @benedictedrummond, I am forever blessed that you reached out to me. What started as a conversation turned into a wonderful friendship. Thank you for noticing my work, and for shooting my home through your talented lens.

@christinehebras - thank you for transforming every space into a picture worthy moment. You gave your love and style to every detail.

This home would not be possible without the work of so many people that came together and helped me realize our dream. I cannot thank everyone but you know who you are and I send much love to you.

To @dimitris.charitakis- none of this was possible without you. You led the charge and made everything happen- even when it was challenging. Your positive attitude was a joy to work with. For me, you are family forever. @scope_architects - thank you for your tireless hours entertaining every idea I had, giving creativity and helping us all get to a final result. @fytron_landscapes - thank you for my favorite garden in the world. Michalis, you created a magnificent work of art- bravo maestro. And to @vavoulasgroup you are the most professional and detail- oriented construction team I have ever worked with- it was a pleasure.

It’s hard not to be emotional when I see this cover. When I say “it takes a village”- I mean it in every sense of the word.
This home was a true labor of love - the people and city of Chania have a very special place in my heart. Xo
Meet the Blueberry room. I named all of the guest Meet the Blueberry room.

I named all of the guest bedrooms in this home after colors — and this one got its name the moment the carpet went in. Each bedroom was meant to feel like its own retreat, with its own personality. This one is expressive and a little moody. Cobalt blue in a mountain home might sound like a lot. I don’t think it is. The @nordicknots rug was exactly the unexpected wow I was looking for.

Black linen drapes floor to ceiling and a bed I designed upholstered in one of my favorite fabrics by @zakandfox. Art by local Utah artist Taylar Jackson @gothsloth — loose and figurative, and completely right above that headboard. And the @houseofhackney pillow — because even the most edited home deserves one moment of gorgeous rebellion.

A little retro, a little bold, and somewhere you’d genuinely want to rest.

This is one of my favorite rooms in the home. Most This is one of my favorite rooms in the home. Mostly because it’s so uncomplicated — allowing you to focus on the view.

I’d been obsessed with these vintage Daumiller dining chairs for a while. When I found them at @nickeykehoe it felt like exactly the right home for them. They look like they shouldn’t be comfortable, but they are. And their silhouette, for being vintage, feels surprisingly modern.

Everything here was designed to protect the view. The banquette and table were custom to make sure the fit was exact. The cylinder fixtures from @lumfardo give off just enough light without interrupting the sightline.

And then the finishing touches — custom tableware by @tamarabpottery and a custom vase from @seldom_studio. Because a room is never done for me without something handmade.

When the view is this good, the room just needs to get out of the way.

I showed you one corner of this bathroom but could I showed you one corner of this bathroom but couldn’t leave it there. There was too much to show. The room is long and narrow — totally impossible to capture in one shot.

It began with the floor. Calacatta with Rosso Levanto insets — a combination I’d been saving for the right project and this was it. The pattern felt handsome enough to balance out everything pretty that would come after, from the bathroom to the bedroom adjacent.

My one request from the owner was to have a really great tub — and this home called for something more than acrylic. It needed something with age and weight to it. The hammered copper finish felt unique and unexpected.

And then the layers — my go-to brass table by @adamotlewski, a fluted pendant from @1stdibs, art sourced by @_jenpaul

You never need a lot of space to make a big impact. You just need the right pieces.

This main bathroom had a window that looked out in This main bathroom had a window that looked out into the trees — and I wasn’t giving that up.

It was a bit too large and didn’t leave room for cabinetry. So I reworked it, found the right size, and made sure you could still wake up every morning and look out into nature.

The dark walnut cabinetry was a combination of two designs I’d been considering for a while. I couldn’t commit to one — so I combined them. I love the proportion, how it feels top heavy, and the exposed plumbing I hid behind drawers rather than pretend it wasn’t there.

From the cabinetry, your eye moves to the mirrors. I’d been drawn to a vintage design for years but could never find it — so I had it reimagined. Medicine cabinets built directly into the wall to keep everything clean and functional. I like things to be beautiful but they also have to be functional.

The Calacatta with Rosso Levanto inset floor from @artistictile runs throughout. My very talented friend Nadia from @smponia_architects pointed me toward the pendants by @darklightdesignltd — and she was spot on. They are so unique.

Good design is never about one thing. It’s about everything working together.

You know when you have a favorite room in a house You know when you have a favorite room in a house and you can't explain why? This is that room for me.

It doubles as a pantry and an office, and yes — it's small. But small can pack a punch when every decision is right.
I'd used this wall color on a previous project and I couldn't let go of it. There's something about that depth of red that makes everything inside it feel warmer.

The punched holes in the cabinetry are a detail I've been waiting to use for years — a nod to a style I remembered from childhood, growing up in a home full of 70s references. It felt right here.

Sometimes a room doesn't need to be big to be the one you want to spend time in.

You know when something arrives and it's not exact You know when something arrives and it's not exactly what you envisioned? That's what happened with these nightstands.

I found them on @chairish — 1930s vintage, shipped from overseas. When they arrived, they were short. Like, not functional short. I'm pretty particular about scale, so I couldn't understand how I'd missed it.

But I loved the silhouette too much to let them go. The original piece was just the top shelf, those vertical rounded elements, and the tiny feet at the bottom. So I added a drawer in between — necessary, functional, and it gave them just another special detail.

From there, the entire room was designed around them. Staying true to their vibe, letting them set the tone for everything else. Did it work?

Designed to make you stop whatever you're doing an Designed to make you stop whatever you're doing and just look. That was the point.

When we started the build, every window in this home was placed with intention — each opening considered for how it would engage the landscape, bring in light, and work within the space.

In the kitchen and dining area in particular, @hibbsluxuryhomes and I moved the window by inches to get it right, maximizing the view without interrupting the furniture.

No window treatments. Instead, roller shades that disappear into the walls so nothing competes with what's outside.

Lighting was kept minimal for the same reason — nothing overhead to pull your eye away from the mountains. Furniture low and uncomplicated for the same.

None of these are big decisions on their own. But together, that's exactly how a room comes together.

Two and a half years ago I started this project wi Two and a half years ago I started this project with clients I'd already worked with on their main home. This was to be their getaway, and Utah was the backdrop they'd been looking for.

The home came with a preconceived structure, and we knew right away that wouldn't work for how they live. So we took it as a starting point — reworking key elements until it felt more considered, and ultimately more theirs.

The idea was never about creating something overly designed. It was about making a home that truly reflects who they are — smart, real, drawn to beautiful things, but not defined by them.

This is the main living room. Midcentury modern meets European cabin chic. Colors just deep enough and always warm. Fabrics so soft on everything you want to sink in and never leave.

As summer winds down, I keep thinking about all th As summer winds down, I keep thinking about all the little moments we’ve shared in this house. This quiet corner has been the backdrop for lazy naps, book-filled afternoons, and way too many tavli matches to count. It’s funny how the simplest routines turn into the best memories. Here’s to holding onto them—and making plenty more.

Although I could never fully capture the feeling y Although I could never fully capture the feeling you get from being in an authentic Greek home, I tried to evoke this spirit using simple materials that came from the surrounding area. The stone exterior and its neutral interior is meant to create a sense of calm, slow living. Authenticity was at the heart of every decision. My hope is that when friends and family visit our home, they feel filoxenia (φιλοξενία) a sense of welcoming and a wanting to return.

This week I was reminded of just how lucky I am. T This week I was reminded of just how lucky I am. This picture was taken before we broke ground on our home. Just us, some land and a whole lot of hopes and dreams for the future. What we created is a place that I feel so grateful for- I have so many pictures and memories of family and friends here. Today we finally were able to bless the home surrounded by loved ones and the energy was perfect. Not everyone could be present but they were here in spirit. I missed my hubby the most. Sometimes you just have to take a step back and reflect. This home was built with love, is filled with love and only good vibes can come from it.
This was all about building a home that doesn’t ju This was all about building a home that doesn’t just sit on the land, but speaks to it. A place where sea views replace screens, where memory is built into the walls, and where every space leaves room for what’s to come.
